Moving House Checklist (Perth)

4–6 weeks out

Lock the big decisions early so settlement and keys do not collide with an unready house.

• Confirm settlement / lease dates and buffer days if possible
• Measure large furniture against new doorways and lifts
• Decide what is moving, selling, donating or storing

2–3 weeks out

This is the packing and access window.

• Book building lifts / loading zones for apartments
• Arrange parking or street occupancy if your council requires it
• Pack non-essentials; label rooms clearly
• Notify utilities, internet and address changes
• Declare special items (piano-style, safes, marble) early

Week of the move

Focus on readiness — billable time starts when the crew is on site and working.

• Finish boxes; empty drawers where practical
• Clear pathways and protect floors if you prefer
• Separate an essentials bag (keys, chargers, documents, meds)
• Confirm arrival window and access notes with Moviq
• Defrost fridges the day before if they are moving

Move day

Be present (or appoint someone) for decisions. Point out fragile items and rooms that must go first or last.

At delivery, direct placement room by room so the crew is not waiting for instructions.

After the truck leaves

Walk both properties if you can. Note any issues promptly through the channels in your booking confirmation.

Final invoice follows actual hours, travel/call-out and approved extras, minus the booking fee already paid.
